Privacy Policy

We built Weekwell to make feeding your family easier. To do that well, we need to know a little about you and your household. We collect only what we need, we keep it secure, we never sell it, and you can delete everything at any time.

• Account info — your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account when you sign in.
• Household info — family members you add (first names, ages), dietary needs, allergies, and food preferences.
• Grocery history — if you connect Gmail, we read grocery-related receipts and order confirmations to understand what your family actually buys and eats.
• Calendar events — if you connect Google Calendar, we read upcoming events (sports, school, travel) so your meal plan fits your actual week.
• Meal plan activity — meals you approve, skip, swap, or mark as favorites over time.
• Grocery orders from the browser extension — if you install our optional Chrome extension, the items on your order pages at Amazon, Instacart, Target and Walmart. Detailed in The browser extension below.

• Meal planning — generate weekly meal plans tailored to your household's tastes, schedules, and health goals.
• Grocery carts — build smart shopping lists routed to the right stores at the best prices.
• Health analysis — flag ingredients relevant to dietary needs and suggest better alternatives.
• Personalization — remember what worked and get better over time so recommendations feel genuinely helpful.

We do not use your data to train AI models or share it for advertising.

Weekwell offers an optional Chrome extension, Weekwell v2 — Sage Grocery Import. It has one job: copy your own grocery order history from the stores you shop at into your Weekwell pantry, so Sage knows what is actually in your kitchen without you typing it in. Nothing in Weekwell requires it.

When it runs. Only when you click an Import button in the extension window. It does not run in the background, on a schedule, or when you are browsing normally. Each import opens your order pages, reads them, closes them, and stops.

What it can reach. Four retailers — Amazon, Instacart, Target and Walmart — and Weekwell’s own site. It cannot see any other site you visit. It has no access to your browsing history, your other tabs, your bookmarks, or your downloads.

What it reads. The order pages inside your own signed-in account at those four retailers: item names, quantities, prices, the order date, the order total, which store it came from, and whether it was delivery or pickup.

What it sends to us. Only that list. Item names, quantities, prices, order date, order total and store name. It does not send your delivery address, your phone number, your payment details, or anything else printed on the page.

What it never sees. Your passwords at any retailer. The extension uses the session you are already signed in to in your own browser — it never asks for, handles, or stores retailer credentials. It reads your Weekwell login token from an open Weekwell tab purely so it knows which account to put the groceries in.

What it deliberately throws away. Target and Walmart keep groceries and everything else in one order history. Non-grocery items are filtered out before anything reaches your pantry, so a t-shirt or a phone charger in the same order does not end up in your kitchen.

Diagnostics, stated plainly. Retailers redesign their sites and quietly break the import. When an Instacart import finds no orders at all, the extension sends us a sample of that page’s visible text along with the page address, so we can see what changed and fix it. This happens only on failure, only for Instacart, and never when an import succeeds. The text is used to repair the importer and nothing else.

What it stores on your computer. The progress of the current import — how many orders it has read so far — and nothing else.

Getting rid of it. Remove the extension from Chrome at any time; nothing in Weekwell breaks. Orders it already imported live in your Weekwell account and are deleted with it, from Settings → Account → Delete account.

We do not sell, rent or share anything the extension collects, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

• Google — sign-in, optional Gmail receipts, and optional Calendar access. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
• Anthropic Claude — our AI backbone. Your meal preferences and household info are sent to Claude to generate plans and recommendations. Anthropic does not retain this data for model training under their API terms.
• Stripe — payment processing. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant.
• Resend — transactional email (receipts, weekly summaries). We share your email address for this purpose only.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party, ever.

Weekwell offers two optional Google connections. Neither is required to use Weekwell, and each is requested only when you tap Connect in onboarding or in Settings → Connected.

• Gmail (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly) — read-only. We search your inbox for grocery order confirmations and receipts from stores such as Amazon Fresh, Instacart, Kroger, Target and Walmart, and read only those messages. From them we extract the store, order date and the food items purchased, and add those items to your Weekwell pantry so Sage can plan dinners from what your household actually has. We do not read other email, and we never send, label, move, delete or modify any email.
• Google Calendar (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly) — read-only. We read upcoming events on the calendars you choose (individual calendars can be turned off in Settings) to plan dinner around late practices, travel and busy nights — for example, a 20-minute meal on a night with a 6 pm game. We never create, change or delete events.

What we store. For Gmail: the extracted order data (store, date, item names and quantities) and the Gmail message ID so a receipt is never imported twice. For Calendar: the event titles and times needed to plan the current and next week. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and used only for the reads described above.

Disconnecting and deleting. Disconnect Gmail or Google Calendar any time in Settings → Connected; disconnecting deletes the stored tokens immediately. You can also revoke Weekwell's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting your Weekwell account deletes all imported order data and calendar data with it.

Limited Use disclosure. Weekwell's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide and improve the user-facing features described above; we do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide those features (our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes extracted receipt text to identify food items and does not retain it for training), to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you; we do not use it to serve advertisements; and no human reads it except with your explicit consent for a specific message, for security purposes, to comply with law, or after it has been aggregated and anonymised.

Your data lives in Cloudflare D1, a globally distributed SQL database. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Cloudflare is SOC 2 compliant and subject to standard data protection practices.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, household members, meal history, and any connected data. There is no waiting period.

We use a single session token (stored in memory, not cookies) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking pixels, behavioral ad networks, or analytics that identify you personally. We may collect aggregate, anonymized usage metrics to understand how the product is being used.

Weekwell is a household tool designed for adults. You may add children as household members to personalize meal plans, but children do not create accounts or have their own login. We do not knowingly collect data directly from anyone under 13.

If we make meaningful changes, we'll let you know by email and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Weekwell after changes means you're okay with them.
